We enjoy a rural location in the quiet hamlet of Vignerac, between the towns of Cuzorn and Fumel which is on the river Lot. This gives you an excellent base from which to plan your holiday and visit the many attractions and places of interest the region has to offer. You will ideally have a car to make the most of what’s on offer, and the quiet, undulating roads wind through pine forests, fields of sunflowers and vineyards making any journey a pleasure. The region's many Chateaux and Bastides offer spectacular views and the towns provide lively markets for local produce, food and wine.
The nearby Bastide town of Monflanquin, voted one of France's most beautiful towns, has day and night markets to enjoy, as well as colourful bars and eateries serving a variety of meals. Whether it is fine dining you are seeking or just a cold beer and a great burger or crepe, you will find something to suit all tastes. We have visited a few and can help point you in the right direction, whatever takes your fancy.
Just a few minutes drive to the south side of the river you will find Montayral which has several major supermarkets and artisanal bakeries to stock up your gîte with essentials. Fumel still retains a few traditional butchers and bakers for those who prefer shops as they used to be. The village of Monsempron Libos, 5 minutes by car, has a good selection of smaller shops and a fantastic market on Thursday mornings. The rail connection to Agen has just been re-opened and this offers a welcome respite from driving and a relaxing day-trip to the region's administrative centre.
Of course, you will want to spend some time relaxing in our gardens by the swimming pool, which measures 12m x 5m, and is next to your gîte. Why not just enjoy a lazy day here reading a book under the shade of a tree, or a game of pétanque followed by an aperatif and barbecue on your private patio.
We are here on site should you need anything, but will be discrete and leave you to enjoy your holiday. We hope you will be comfortable, enjoy your stay and not hesitate to let us know if you need any assistance. We speak French, English and Tagalog.
